Why do I need an Interior Designer?
Whether you need a little help or a lot, from answers to a few questions on furniture layout to help on planning and completing a complicated remodel or new construction project, the advice and guidance of an Interior Designer is invaluable.
Having a professional Interior Designer on your team who has the knowledge and experience of countless similar projects as well as the information and expertise for finding the exact products and trades-people you need to get the best result for your project is priceless. Working with an Interior Designer will help you to move seamlessly and efficiently through the project, as well as help you prevent costly mistakes or side-steps along the way.
I have a hard time visualizing the end result , do you do drawings?
Yes!! After completing countless projects I naturally gained the ability to look at a room and not just see what is existing, but see what could be. Jade Janks Interiors now offers 3D drawing services!
I have been having a blast watching spaces come to life on the computer before even lifting a hammer or moving a piece of furniture!
How did you get into Interior Design? What qualifies you?
Growing up my father ran a High end Kitchen and Bath remodel company that I used to go in and help with the occasional filing and admin. Over time I became more interested and involved in the field and loved watching his projects come to life!
This was when the “Old World Tuscan” theme was all the craze. I learned about different tile and stone applications and eventually opened my own Tile Showroom within his company.
While I did also go to school for Interior Design, I found I got the most knowledge on site
Where did you learn Interior Decorating?
After over 10 years in the Interior Design world I decided I needed a little change and went to train hands on in a luxury furniture design showroom. I have to admit I had no idea how many factors are considered when decorating. Studying hands on proved to be invaluable as I learned about different types of furniture construction and how long it will last, different textiles, upholstery and leather options and the proper applications for each grade.
In that time I also build great relationships with a lot of the major furniture manufacturers and learned how to navigate when to use which.
What style do you work with? What if we have different taste?
I don’t limit myself to any style and will never design a house solely based on my preferences. My clients taste and style, the architecture of the home and its natural surroundings, as well as the budget are all factors in the interior’s style direction. Your space has to bring out your personality and function to fit your lifestyle.
Do you get discounts?
As a licensed Interior Designer I do get a lot of trade discounts. On top of that I have maintained excellent relationships with many of the major suppliers both locally and globally Often times these relationships prove more beneficial than the standard trade discount.
Do I really need someone to help me with simply selecting furniture?
Im sure you have already done some perusing online and got extremely overwhelmed
With the thousands of options out there. But, its not just selecting something “pretty” you and I will sit down and discuss function ie; who is the piece there for? Will there be puppies, kitties, or children? What fabrics and leathers will last in my application? What are my options on customizing? Is it worth putting the extra money in a custom piece? Is this a good brand?
I walked into a showroom and was offered free design services ?
I have seen first hand what some in house designers can do and it truly is amazing. While this is always an option, I wouldn’t hire them with the idea of saving money. There are many talented designers working under a showroom but keep in mind they are employers whose primary obligation is to benefit the showroom despite it’s limitations
I have young children and a pet that likes to jump on furniture, am I crazy to shop for furniture right now?
Surprisingly, no. It’s really incredible what manufacturers are doing these days! I work with some very innovative manufacturers and am blown away by the direction Performance Fabric has gone. You can now get that beautiful soft white sofa and not have to worry about the kids jumping around, the dog doing that little scratch around in a circle to get comfortable thing, or that dinner guest who has a tendency to spill red wine on everything!
I can also show you some leather options that have heavy protection ratings, and flooring that won’t scratch or fade in the sun.
Pricing?
e have different options availablWAfter we discuss the scope of your project we can sit down and select the plan that is best suited for your needs. Keep in mind that although I am fortunate enough to do something I love for a living, I believe my success does not come from one client, but that client having an amazing experience and end result where they are happy to refer me to friends and family as well as come back to me when ready to start the next project. I believe in transparency and take both your style and budget very seriously
